What does a single door cost compared with a double? The examples below compare a 9-foot-wide by 7-foot-tall opening with a 16-foot-wide by 7-foot-tall opening. Measure each opening separately if you have two single doors: two singles are two door installations, not one double. Eight-foot-tall doors and other widths may have different prices or require a custom quote.

Which construction should I choose? Compare an insulated construction level if the garage is attached to the house, used as a workshop, or has living space above it. A single-layer steel door may fit a detached, unheated storage garage. Check the selected model's insulation specifications alongside its price; a door alone cannot guarantee a particular room temperature or heating-bill saving.
What is included in the installed total? Installation labor is $600 for doors up to 10 feet wide or $900 for doors 12 feet wide and above. Old-door haul-away is $175 per door. These charges and the door tax are already included in the displayed door totals; do not add them again. The standard door setup includes the matched torsion spring system and standard-lift track.
What can increase the quote? Optional glass, decorative hardware, specialty finishes, a new opener, and changes to the opening can change the total. High-cycle springs, low-headroom or high-lift track, electrical work, and other site-specific work need confirmation. Options without a price-book amount are quoted separately; they are not included for free. We check the opening, headroom, existing tracks, and opener compatibility before confirming the installation.
Does a new door include a new opener? No. An opener is a separate choice; a compatible existing unit may be retained. How do windows and style affect the price? Compare the same size and construction level with and without the selected glass in the Door Builder. A carriage-house design, insulated glass, custom color, or decorative hardware can change the price in different ways across collections. A single flat upgrade allowance would not describe those choices accurately. Full-view aluminum, custom wood, and unpriced sizes should be compared with their own specifications and quotes.
What warranty comes with the door? Manufacturer coverage depends on the collection, construction level, and component. Ask for the selected door's current warranty and the installation workmanship terms with the written quote. Do not assume that a paint, hardware, or manufacturer warranty provides the same coverage as installation labor.
Should I repair the existing door instead? If the panels and structure are sound and the problem is a replaceable component, ask for a repair quote as well.
